Coach Beth Spak serves as the camp coordinator and the camp will also feature prominent head coaches and ex-college players

drills, and camp organization. Pre-registration cost for the camp is $110 if received by July 11th. Registration after July
11th including day of registration on July 19th is $125. Parents are encouraged to pre-register to ensure participants get
the correct camp t-shirt size. The camp will feature two days of instruction from 9am-1pm on Tuesday & Wednesday and then
skill contests and scrimmage games from 9am-1:30pm on Thursday.
In addition to the FUNdamentals general skills camp, a special session on Slap Hitting will be offered on Wednesday, July 20th,
from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Coach Spak along with Tori Fobb (played at Brenau University and coaches for GA Elite 16U) will present the
fundamentals of slap hitting and will be assisted by varsity players from JCHS and NHS. Cost for the slap hitting session is $25
for players also participating in the FUNdamentals camp or $30 if only participating in the Slap Hitting session (pre-registration
by July 11th only; cost is $35 for slap hitting session if received after the July 11th deadline). The slap hitting session may be
taken in addition to the FUNdamentals camp or by itself but note there is a small cost difference for the slap hitting session if
taken alone. If attending only the slap hitting session, please complete the FUNdamentals camp application and return with a check
for that session only.
The 2011 FUNdamentals camp registration form can be downloaded using the link below. Also available is a separate flyer for
the Slap Hitting session. Attendees for both the camp and slap hitting session need only complete a single application form
and return with a check for the total amount. If attending only the slap hitting session, please complete the application
form and return a check for the slap hitting session amount only. Due to the overwhelming response to the camp in 2010
and to ensure the most effective instruction for campers, the FUNdamentals camp will be limited to the first 80 players
that register. The slap hitting session will be limited to the first 25 campers that register. Players registered after
these cutoffs have been reached will be placed on a wait list. See the camp flyers for email contact information if

LADY GLADIATORS DELIVER DONATION TO LOCAL BREAST CANCER CHARITY (UPDATED 10/14)
On Thursday, members of the Lady Gladiators softball program visited Turning Point Women's Healthcare, a local non-profit charity that supports
breast cancer patients, to deliver proceeds from their fund raising efforts in late September. During GHSA softball Breast Cancer Awareness week,
the Lady Gladiator JV and Varsity teams donned their pink uniforms to sell pink ribbons to raise money. In addition to the ribbon sales, JCHS
Principal Greene and Athletic Director Cloy were kind enough to allow the teams to keep the gate proceeds from all softball games that week to
add to the donation. In all, the Lady Gladiators raised $1000 for Turning Point and on Thursday, members of the team hand delivered the check to
Turning Point, met with the Turning Point leadership, and took a tour of the facility. Diane Justice, mother of Megan Vonderhaar and a front office
administrator at Johns Creek, was on hand for the presentation and personally played a role in helping to select Turning Point as the beneficiary
of the team's fund raising efforts.

Vonderhaar and Lindsey Cutcliff and will return 8 starters and an experienced squad for the 2011 season. The Region 7-AAAA

LADY GLADIATORS FINISH REGION PLAY WITH 12-4 WIN OVER FORSYTH CENTRAL (9/28)
The Lady Gladiators closed out the regular season on Tuesday with a convincing 12-4 victory over Forsyth Central. The win pushed the
Gladiators to 6-4 in Region 7-AAAA play and the #3 seed from the sub-region in the Region 7-AAAA tournament that begins this Saturday,
10/2, at Twin Creeks Park in Woodstock. The Lady Gladiators will face off with either Northwest Whitfield or Cass from sub-region "A"
in the double elimination format tournament. Kara Langill started in the circle for Johns Creek and pitched 6 strong innings on Tuesday
picking up her 9th win of the season in the process. Kara gave way to Erin Thorn in relief who picked up the save closing out Forsyth
Central in the 7th and final inning. Every starter for the Gladiators had at least one hit and most had two apiece on the evening as the
offense went into high gear in the 4th inning to break open a close game. The opening games of the Region 7-AAAA tournament take place
on Saturday at 11:00am and at 1:30pm. The opponent as well as field locations will be announced by Thursday.
LADY GLADIATORS FINISH 2-1-1 IN MILTON TOURNAMENT (9/25)
The Lady Gladiators were back in action in the Milton Tournament on Saturday. In the morning opener, the Lady Gladiators dropped
an 8-2 decision to Milton. The Lady Gladiators played Shiloh in the 2nd game and after jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first
inning, the team cruised to a 10-3 victory. In the 3rd and final game of the tournament for JCHS, they faced Camden County. Both
teams scored 4 runs in the first 2 innings of play but the pitching took control and the bats were dormant for both teams for the
remainder of the game resulting in a 4-4 tie. Overall, the Lady Gladiators ended the tournament with a respectable 2-1-1 record.
Candace Roper had a big day at the plate hitting a home run in each of the 3 games. Erin Thorn added a home run in the game
against Shiloh. Candace extended her team leading home run total to 5 ahead of Erin with 4. The Lady Gladiators are next in
action on Tuesday with the Region 7-AAAA finale at Forsyth Central. The team will then spend the remainder of the week preparing
for the Region tournament which gets underway next Saturday, October 2nd. For pictures of Saturday's action in the tournament,

LADY GLADIATORS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT, DROP REGION GAME TO SOUTH FORSYTH 9-4 (9/24)
The Lady Gladiators dug too big of a hole in the 2nd inning of the Region 7-AAAA game against South Forsyth on Thursday night to recover eventually
falling to the War Eagles 9-4. The Gladiator offense was held in check through most of the first 4 innings but came alive toward the latter part of
the game. Victoria Swanson continues to swing a hot bat including 2 hits on the night to lead the team in batting average. Candace Roper went deep
for the 2nd night in a row with a line drive home run over the left field fence that was never in doubt the minute it left the bat. The Lady Gladiators
conclude regular season Region play on Tuesday at Forsyth Central with the Region 7-AAAA tournament scheduled to begin on Saturday, 10/2. With a Region
record of 5-4, the Lady Gladiators have secured the #3 seed from sub-region "B" in the upcoming Region tournament. Our opponent will not be known until
Tuesday of next week.
LADY GLADIATORS TAKE OPENER IN MILTON TOURNAMENT 8-1 OVER DAWSON COUNTY (9/22)
The Lady Gladiators opened play in the Milton Tournament on Wednesday night at Alpharetta's North Park against Dawson
County. Kara Langill was dominant in the circle holding the Dawson County team scoreless until the 6th inning. It took
a few innings for the Gladiator bats to get working but once they were working, the result was 14 hits spread evenly through
the lineup. Victoria Swanson led all JCHS hitters with a 3-hit game including two RBI
to stake the team to a 2-0 lead. Candace Roper had two hits including a 2-run home run to LF to push the lead to 4-0.
Taylor Sheffield, Jenna Restivo, and Courtney Jacobs added 2 hits each and Haley Cutcliff, Meghan Caffrey, and Kara Langill rounded
out the attack for the Lady Gladiators. The team is back in action in the Milton Tournament on Saturday morning.

LADY GLADIATORS FALL TO CREEKVIEW 7-1, DROP TO 5-3 IN REGION PLAY (9/22)
The Lady Gladiators hosted Creekview on Tuesday in a Region 7-AAAA contest at Johns Creek. The Gladiators keep the game close but
Creekview pulled away using timely hits and some miscues by the Gladiators' defense. With the 7-1 loss, the Lady Gladiators dropped
to 5-3 overall in Region play with South Forsyth next up on Thursday. Forsyth Central was however defeated by Lambert on Tuesday
which secured no worse than a 3rd place seed from Sub-Region "B" for the Lady Gladiators in the upcoming Region 7-AAAA tournament
which begins on October 2nd. Before resuming Region play on Thursday at South Forsyth, the Lady Gladiators will square off against
Dawson County in round 1 of the Milton Tournament tonight (Wednesday) at North Park, 6:15pm game start time.

PINK OUT CONTINUES, LADY GLADIATORS TOP HOOCH 8-0 IN REGION 7-AAAA ACTION (9/16)
The Lady Gladiators were in pink one last time on Thursday as Breast Cancer Awareness week for GHSA softball comes to
a close. In contrast to Tuesday's win over Lambert where the team struggled at times, the Lady Gladiators were efficient
and effective on Thursday against rival Chattahoochee. Kara Langill and Erin Thorn combined in the circle for the 2-hit
shutout facing only 3 batters over the minimum as JCHS closed out the game 8-0 in 6 innings of play. Neither pitcher allowed
more than 1 base runner in an inning and the defense was nearly flawless with only a single error to start the game after
which the Lady Gladiators made all of the plays necessary. The Lady Gladiators got on the board in the 2nd inning with a
2-RBI single from Darby McNally. The team added 3 runs in the 3rd and another in the 4th taking a 6-0 lead into the bottom of
the 6th inning. Courtney Jacobs led off the 6th inning with a bloop single to CF taking 2nd base when the Cougars left the
base unguarded following the hit. Erin Thorn singled home Courtney for the 7th run and took 2nd base on a passed ball. Victoria
Swanson then collected her 3rd RBI of the evening singling home Erin with the 8th run that triggered the run rule 6-inning
victory. Leading the Lady Gladiator hitting attack was Courtney Jacobs, Erin Thorn, Candace Roper, and Victoria Swanson with
2 hits each and hits by Darby, Haley Cutcliff, Kara Langill to round out the attack. With the victory, the Lady Gladiators
moved to 5-2 in Region play with 3 games remaining against Creekview, South Forsyth, and Forsyth Central. The final home
game of the regular season schedule is next Tuesday, 9/21, at 5:30pm against the Creekview Grizzlies.
SENIOR NIGHT, PINK OUT, AND 13-6 VICTORY OVER LAMBERT (UPDATED 9/13)
It wasn't pretty but we will take a Region win any way you can get it.
The Lady Gladiators pushed their Region 7-AAAA record to 4-2 on Tuesday with a 13-6 victory over Lambert. The Lady Gladiators fell
behind early 2-0 until rallying to tie the score in the 4th. The Longhorn lead could have been extended in the 4th but a nifty double
play by Kara Langill who tagged a runner going to second and then threw to Victoria Swanson at first for the final out of the inning.
After tying the game at 2-2, the Lady Gladiators immediately gave up 4 runs in the top of the 5th as the Longhorns battled back and
momentum once again shifted in favor of Lambert. JCHS finally broke through with an 8-run 5th inning and then put the game away with 3 runs in the 6th inning.
Erin Thorn went the distance in the circle for the Lady Gladiators. Although the Lady Gladiators had only 3 hits through the first 4 innings, the bats
came alive with 11 hits in the final 2 frames for a 15-hit total for the game. Leading the way for the Lady Gladiators at the plate were
Courtney Jacobs and Kara Langill with 3 hits apiece. Haley Cutcliff, Megan Vonderhaar, and Diana Ruth had 2 hits each and Candace Roper
delivered a big double in the 5th to score 2 runs and to open up the offensive that staked the team a lead they would not relinquish.
Tuesday was also Senior Night and the Lady Gladiators paid tribute to Seniors Megan Vonderhaar and Lindsey Cutcliff. The team was dressed
in pink for the second night in a row in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness week. The JV team sold pink ribbons in the stands to raise money
for the Turning Point Women's Health Care Center of Alpharetta. Lucy Carr continued her Senior Night tradition with a great rendition of the
National Anthem. The Lady Gladiators will continue to sell ribbons through Thursday of this week and we should have an announcement by Friday
of the total money raised by the teams through gate receipts and ribbon sales.

LADY GLADIATOR ALUM LINDSEY ANDERSON IN GA TECH DEBUT (UPDATED 9/13)
Lady Gladiator alum Lindsey Anderson pitched in her first collegiate game on Sunday. Georgia Tech hosted Georgia State in a double header
and Lindsey pitched the final 4 innings of game #2 holding Georgia State scoreless for a 13-0 Tech victory. Current Lady Gladiators Kara
Langill and Megan Vonderhaar were in attendance for the game. Check out the photos below. Way to go Lindsey!.
LADY GLADIATORS DEFEAT FORSYTH CENTRAL 4-2 IN REGION PLAY (UPDATED 9/9)
The Lady Gladiators were back in action Thursday night as Region 7-AAAA play resumed after a week layoff. Facing a Forsyth Central
team with an identical region record, the two teams squared off to see which would take over 3rd place in the sub-region standings.
Forsyth Central took an early 1-0 lead resulting from 2 errors in the first inning and the score remained that way until mid-way
through the contest. The Lady Gladiators were able to push across a run in the bottom of the 4th to tie the score at 1-1 and then
took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 5th with a 3-run outburst. The Lady Gladiators surrendered one run in the top of the 7th but
quickly shutdown the Bulldogs to take a 4-2 final. Kara Langill started and finished in the circle for Johns Creek with another
strong outing. The defense started slowly but found its footing early enough in the game to keep the score close until the Johns
Creek hitters were able to get going. The 9-hit attack for Johns Creek was led by Jenna Restivo, Erin Thorn, and Courtney Jacobs
with 2 hits each. Victoria Swanson delivered a clutch double in the 5th to score Courtney and to move Erin into scoring position
where she would score a play later on a passed ball for the 4th run. Diana Ruth and Megan Vonderhaar also singled for the Lady
Gladiators to round out the offense.
LADY GLADIATORS TRAVEL TO GEORGIA TECH, DEFEAT WOODWARD ACADEMY 4-0 (UPDATED 9/7)
The Lady Gladiators traveled to Georgia Tech on Tuesday for a non-region contest with Woodward Academy (5B-AAA). While playing at the
Georgia Tech softball complex was a special occasion for both teams, both brought their "A" game and treated the contest as if it
were a region battle. Coach Nicholson pulled all of the right strings to get all of the Lady Gladiators into the game. Pitching duties
were split between Kara Langill and Erin Thorn and both were strong in the circle combining for the shutout. The Lady Gladiators managed
7 hits in the contest but a timely hit from Megan Vonderhaar and a fielders choice RBI from Haley Cutcliff stretched the Johns Creek lead to
3-0. The Lady Gladiators would add one more run on a passed ball and that was more than enough with the strong pitching and efficient
defense. The Lady Gladiators resume region play on Thursday at home with a 5pm contest against Forsyth Central.

LADY GLADIATORS STUMBLE IN REGION PLAY, MOVE TO 2-2 (UPDATED 9/3)
The Lady Gladiators had a tough week in Region 7-AAAA play facing the two top teams in Creekview on Tuesday and South
Forsyth on Thursday. The Lady Gladiators were never in the contest with Creekview falling behind 9-0 in the first inning
before finally losing 13-0 in a 3-inning game. On Thursday, the Lady Gladiators fell behind South Forsyth 3-0 but tied
the game 3-3 midway through the contest. However, too many errors and the inability to string together key hits at the
right time resulted in a 7-4 loss. With the two losses, the Lady Gladiators move to 2-2 in Region 7-AAAA play. With the
Labor Day holiday next week, only a single Region game is on tap with Johns Creek hosting Forsyth Central on Thursday.
The varsity squads will play at 5pm followed by the JV squads at 7pm.

LADY GLADIATORS RUN OUT OF GAS IN BUFORD TOURNAMENT (UPDATED 8/29)
The Lady Gladiators finished play in the Buford Tournament on Saturday at Johns Creek. In all, the Lady Gladiators hosted 12
games at the softball complex competing in 6 of those games. After falling behind 7-0 to Dunwoody on Wednesday night, the
Lady Gladiators roared back to ultimately tie the game at 7-7. After the emotional victory at Chattahoochee on Thursday, an
energized team returned to play Friday night defeating a solid Riverwood team 5-1. In the nightcap, the Lady Gladiators held
a 4-2 lead over AAAAA opponent Woodstock before losing 6-4 surrendering 4 runs in the final frame. On Saturday, an exhausted
Gladiator squad playing their 8th game in 6 days simply could not muster any offense and fell 4-0 to Providence, 11-0 to Union
County, and 3-1 to Lanier. Despite the Lady Gladiators' overall tournament performance, all of the visiting teams were very
complimentary of the team, coaching staff, and the facilities as a tournament host site. The Lady Gladiators return to Region
7-AAAA action this week visiting Creekview on Tuesday followed by the Region home opener against South Forsyth on Thursday.
LADY GLADIATORS MOVE TO 2-0 IN REGION WITH WIN OVER CHATTAHOOCHEE (UPDATED 8/26)
The Lady Gladiators returned to Region 7-AAAA play on Thursday night at Chattahoochee. After sitting through a lightning delay
that ultimately resulted in the postponement of the JV game, the varsity squads got underway in a rivalry of neighboring schools.
Both teams featured players that grew up playing little league together many of which still play together today on various travel
softball teams. Kara Langill turned in another outstanding performance in the circle keeping a potent Cougar offense at bat until
late in the game. By that time, the Lady Gladiators had staked Kara to an 8-0 lead on timely hitting up and down the lineup. Erin
Thorn delivered a bomb to LF for her 2nd home run of the season putting an exclamation point on the Lady Gladiators scoring. Two
offensive standouts that deserve special mention are Haley Cutcliff and Diana Ruth. Both players began their high school softball
careers at Chattahoochee and were certainly feeling the pressure of returning to their old school. The Cougars finally got on the
scoreboard late in the game and threatened in the 6th inning scoring 2 but stranding 2 others as the result of strong pitching and
great defense. Kara shut down the Cougar offense in the final frame with Courtney Jacobs putting the defensive exclamation point on
the game with a sliding catch of a fly ball in shallow LC to close out the game. In his post-game comments, Coach Nicholson spoke
of how impressed he was with the team with their Thursday night performance especially after the rough outing the night before in
the Buford Tournament opener with a 7-7 tie with Dunwoody. He noted that the victory was a total team effort. The Lady Gladiators
are back in action on Friday against Riverwood and Woodstock as pool play action in the Buford Tournament continues.

LADY GLADIATORS TAKE REGION OPENER 6-2 OVER LAMBERT (UPDATED 8/24)
The Lady Gladiators opened Region 7-AAAA play Tuesday night at Lambert with a solid 6-2 victory behind strong pitching
from Kara Langill. The offense pounded out 9 hits in all with Candace Roper, Megan Vonderhaar, and Courtney Jacobs each
contributing 2 hits to the attack. Erin Thorn drove in Courtney twice with a sacrifice fly in the 1st and a double in the 4th.
Kara, backed by solid defense, held a 6-1 lead going into the bottom of the 7th inning when Lambert loaded the bases with
no outs and threatened. After a sacrifice fly to CF, the next Lambert batter flew out to Megan Vonderhaar in LF who in turn
threw out the runner attempting to score from 3B for a game ending double play. The Lady Gladiators face off with Dunwoody
on Wednesday at JCHS in the Buford Tournament opener before returning to Region play at Chattahoochee on Thursday.
GHSA SOFTBALL BREAST CANCER AWARENESS WEEK, LADY GLADIATORS PINK OUT! (UPDATED 8/23).png)
The GHSA has designated September 13-17 as Breast Cancer Awareness week for softball. The Lady Gladiators
are fortunate to have both a JV and Varsity home game that week. On 9/13 (JV) and 9/14 (Varsity), the Lady
Gladiators will don their pink uniforms in support of Breast Cancer Awareness week. Principal Greene and
Athletic Director Cloy have both graciously agreed to let the softball program donate the gate proceeds
from both games to the team's choice of breast cancer charity. In addition, the varsity players will be
selling pink ribbons at the 9/13 JV game and JV players will be doing the same at the 9/14 Varsity game
and all proceeds from the ribbon sale will be donated to charity as well. Come support the Lady Gladiators
for Pinkout Night on Monday, 9/13, and Tuesday, 9/14.

LADY GLADIATORS FINISH 2ND IN KELL TOURNAMENT SILVER DIVISION (UPDATED 8/14)
The Lady Gladiators turned in a great performance in the season opening Kell Tournament over the
past weekend. Opening pool play on Friday night at Kell High School, the Lady Gladiators lost a
hard fought game 3-1 to North Paulding. Kara Langill pitched a great game which was scoreless going
into late innings. The Lady Gladiators had an opportunity to win the game in the bottom of the 7th
inning with bases loaded but were unable to come up with the key hit. JCHS rebounded in game #2 of pool
play defeating Pebblebrook 14-0 behind dominant pitching from Erin Thorn and hitting up and down the
lineup. Erin Thorn went "yard" for her first home run of the season with a 2-run shot down the left
field line with Courtney Jacobs aboard courtesy of a walk.
The Lady Gladiators opened medal round play in the Silver Division on Saturday with a 5-4 victory
over Alexander with Kara Langill in the circle. In game #2, Walton defeated the Lady Gladiators 8-1
with JCHS unable to get anything going offensively and struggling defensively at the same time (not
an ideal combination by the way). The Lady Gladiators bounced back in game #3 with a 10-3 victory over
Alpharetta with Kara Langill pitching another strong game. The offense was back in action with plenty
of run support for Kara with every Lady Gladiator in the lineup contributing to the 10-run total. In
the final game of the tournament, Erin Thorn got the call in the circle for a rematch of Friday's game
with North Paulding. Erin pitched a masterpiece taking a 2-0 lead into the top of the 7th when the
Lady Gladiators manufactured a 3rd run to take a 3-0 lead into the final frame. North Paulding was only
able to scratch out a single run in the bottom of the 7th and the Lady Gladiators claimed a 3-1 victory.
Jenna Restivo was outstanding behind the dish for all 6 games for the Lady Gladiators despite an injury
which limited her to a defense-only role in the FLEX position in the lineup.
With the win, JCHS secured 2nd place in the Silver Division. In the post-game meeting, Coach Nicholson
spoke to the team about how proud he was of their weekend performance with the Lady Gladiators exceeding
his expectations for the tournament. The Lady Gladiators finished the Kell Tournament with a 4-2 overall
record and a great start to the 2010 season.

JCHS 2010 SUB-REGION SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED (REVISED 5/20, UPDATED 8/5)
Coach Billy Nicholson announced the 2010 varsity sub-region schedule today. The Lady Gladiators will play as
part of Region 7-AAAA sub-region "B" for the 2010 season. In all, 11 teams are in the Region with 6 of them
assigned to sub-region "B". In addition to JCHS, the other sub-region "B" schools are Chattahoochee, Creekview,

automatically qualify for the state tournament and will play each other to determine who gets the top seed from
the Region. The remaining teams in the Region will participate in a double-elimination tournament in order to

JCHS ASSIGNED TO REGION 7-AAAA (B) FOR 2010-12 (POSTED 12/2, FINALIZED 1/12).png)
The GHSA classification process for Region alignments to take effect in 2010-12 has been completed and all
appeals have been resolved. Johns Creek has been placed in Region 7-AAAA Sub-Region B. Joining JCHS in Region
7-AAAA (B) is Chattahoochee, South Forsyth, Forsyth Central, Creekview, and Lambert. For a complete list of
final region assignments in all classifications, download the following document from the GHSA. Also, the GHSA
voted to return to 2-year reclassification cycles instead of 4-year cycles approved last year. The GHSA felt
that the 2-year process was more flexible and best serves the interests of the member schools.
